Recover from the COVID-19 impact by building rehabilitation

The recent BPIE study “Building Renovation: A kick-starter for the EU recovery” presents the effects of increasing the building energy renovation of our building stock as a strong catalyst for economic recovery by the job creation and other macro-economic benefits in the EU. It give us quantitative information on how the European Green Deal strategy, by building rehabilitation, can help the EU and its Member States recover from the economic impact of tackling the COVID-19 pandemic. What is important now is to design policies to trigger a renovation wave to stimulate local economies, and training and upskilling the workforce to prepare them to face the demand for better higher-performing and carbon-neutral buildings.
