The conference HERITAGE 2020 focuses on heritage and sustainable development concepts. The pillars of this event are the four dimensions of sustainable development (environment, economics, society and culture). This conference aims to define an approach on how to deal with the specific subject of heritage sustainability. In addition to the traditional aspects of heritage conservation, the relevance and significance of the sustainable development concept will be discussed. Heritage governance and education will be also brought into discussion in order to enlighten future global strategies for heritage preservation. The Organizing Committee of Heritage 2020 following all national and international recommendations and impositions on what concerns the COVID-19 pandemic crisis and after considering 3 possibilities (postpone the event to September/October, postpone one year or organize the conference on-line) decided (if the participants agree) to keep the publication of the Proceedings under ISBN and ISSN but with no physical or on-line discussion.
